Summary Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for handling the basic financial activities of multiple divisions within the JEP organization and assisting the finance and accounting team in budgets and auditing, while ensuring accuracy of the financial records and encouraging continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses)
• Perform various account reconciliations as assigned by Management
• Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct month-end and year-end GL closing activities
• Prepare documents for audits
• Analyze budgets and expense reports
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Identify and implement accounting and finance process improvements to achieve efficiency and accuracy of the transactions and reporting
• General tasks and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting.
• One to Three years of experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
• Strong mathematical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications, specifically Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of Oracle application and Qlik is a plus.
