Full-time; 8 hours per day; 40 hours per week; 210 paid days per full school year (includes 10 paid holidays); # of days will be pro-rated if hired during the school year.

 

There is an additional annual stipend of $1,250.00 for this position.

 

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

Jefferson County Schools Job Description - Bookkeeper at Patriot Academy

 

 

Job Duties:

  • Issue purchase orders to staff for purchasing.
  • Keep up with BEP funds for teachers.
  • Input school inventory to excel spreadsheet.
  • Collect monies from students/staff. 
  • Receipt monies and transport money to main campus for deposits.
  • Enter Faculty/Staff sick leave for payroll.
  • Order supplies for copiers and general office supplies.
  • Relieve receptionist for breaks/lunch. 
  • Learn all aspects of receptionist’s job to cover in case needed.
  • Assist attendance clerk with various job duties.
  • Learn all aspects of attendance job to cover in case needed.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the principal and bookkeepers at the main campus. 

 

 

 

Necessary Requirements of Work:

 

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program, additional course work in bookkeeping and accounting, experience working with the public in an office environment, strong interpersonal, mathematical, and organizational skills or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

 

-Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance.

-Knowledge of the Jefferson County public school policies and procedures pertaining to bookkeeping and accounting procedures.

-Ability to create and maintain detailed files and related information in an organized and accessible manner.

-Ability to respond quickly and effectively to different job demands and pressures.

-Ability to interact in a professional and tactful manner with students, parents, staff, and the public in person and on the telephone.

-Ability to maintain accurate balances of funds and reconcile accounts as necessary.

-Ability to perform the physically demanding aspects of the job.

-Skill in the operation of contemporary office equipment.

-Skill in the use of current software applications including database management and spreadsheets.
