Summary:  NMSU is seeking a dedicated Systems Analyst, Associate to provide frontline technical support in a distributed IT environment. This role ensures the seamless operation of desktops, laptops, printers, and software deployments for faculty, staff, and instructional labs. As part of College IT, the analyst plays a key role in maintaining service continuity across departments and colleges. Classification Summary:
Under immediate supervision performs work that is routine and instructions are usually detailed. This position includes duties normally associated with a systems administrator or systems analyst. Installs new and/or expands existing personal computer based systems. Determines required software and hardware in conjunction with end users. Programs or selects suitable software to meet user requirements. Installs new and maintains existing hardware. Develops and maintains telecommunications systems.

Classification Standard Duties:
Collects information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Aids in customizing, upgrading, integrating, and testing software for users. Installs, tests, maintains and supports operating systems software and hardware. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.Documents projects and writes user instructions. Records and maintains hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. May train users in use of equipment. May be responsible for monitoring data integrity. Provides problem-solving support to computer users.Performs problem support and resolution on-call for users of computer/network systems. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned .

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:Bachelor's degree in a related field.; Required Experience:No previous work experience required.; Equivalency:Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.; Required Certification/License:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.; SKILLS:Records maintenance skills.; ABILITIES:Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Systems Analyst, Associate provides frontline technical support within a distributed IT environment, serving faculty, staff, and instructional labs. This position is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop and laptop computers, printers, software deployments, and related systems. Working as part of College IT, the analyst contributes to a cross-functional support model to ensure continuity of service across departments and colleges.
