Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership and technical expertise in the support, management, design and implementation of the district’s network infrastructure systems, public and private cloud services, servers/storage, enterprise applications, and communication systems.
Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Tomball ISD.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
• Associate degree or higher in an Information Technology related field
• Relevant Information Technology certification preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
• Effective verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and telephone etiquette skills
• Ability to provide technical leadership
• Expert knowledge of implementing, managing, and securing all aspects of both public and private cloud services
• Expert knowledge of implementing, managing, and securing enterprise technologies such as virtualization, compute, storage, identity management/directory services, single sign on, messaging, print, security, unified communication, and application services
• Expert knowledge of implementing, managing, and securing network infrastructure technologies
• Expert knowledge of diagnosing and repairing enterprise server and storage equipment
• Expert knowledge of configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise applications
• Ability to set priorities and handle multiple complex assignments
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical support to end users, preferably in an educational environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting enterprise class network systems and applications.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Design, implement, manage, secure, and provide technical leadership for the districts network infrastructure systems, public and private cloud services, servers/storage, enterprise applications, and communications systems.
• Act as the system administrator for the district’s enterprise applications consisting of storage, messaging, single sign on, identity management/directory services, collaboration, print, security, unified communication, and application services.
• Act as the system administrator for the district’s network infrastructure systems including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, cybersecurity, network access control, and physical security.

• Act as part of a team and provide leadership to design, develop, and implement technology systems including policies and procedures district wide.
• Work cooperatively with district staff and external vendors to implement and troubleshoot systems and services district wide.
• Assist in the design, development, implementation, and support of technology systems district-wide.
• Provide regular updates and status reports to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete a written record of every service call.
• Contribute to an accurate inventory of all Technology systems and services in use district wide.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Network Services
