Senior Tax & Staff Accountant

Public Accounting

Client CPA firm is currently seeking CPAs and staff accountants BOTH currently working or who have recently worked in in the public accounting environment. Ideal candidate will possess strong communications and leadership skills. Candidate will prioritize excellent client relations skills with the understanding that their performance is a direct reflection of client retention and new client development. Key attributes sought include, specialization in the areas of financial statement compilations, business tax preparation and/or individual tax preparation and QuickBooks. Tax software experience a plus, but not required (Prosy, FX tax and Engagement). 

Primary Responsibilities

• Preparation of federal, state and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, LLCs and partnerships.

• Preparation of GAAP and OCBOA compiled financial statements, including transaction data entry, account reconciliation, general ledger write-up and journal entry preparation as required.

• Preparation of payroll, sales tax, and other miscellaneous business filings as requested.

• Effective work paper preparation in compliance with firm standards and procedures.

• Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks within the deadline.

• Build strong working relationships within team.

• Daily time tracking through firm billing software and sensitivity to maintenance of an appropriate billable time ratio.

• A commitment to work extended hours during tax season.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting 

• Min 2 years’ relevant experience in preparing financial statements and compilations, business and individual tax returns

• CPA or CPA eligible for senior role 

• Solid communication skills 

• Excellent computer skills

Qualifications

Position Requirements

Our client company is looking for experienced senior staff accountants. Minimum of 3 to 15 years’ experience required. Must have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and QuickBooks software. Experience with Prosy stem FX tax and Engagement software a plus. Must be a CPA or a CPA candidate.
