The Role
The IWMS Platform and Technology group is looking for a highly motivated systems analyst to be part of its diverse, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of Fidelity’s Institutional Client Platforms and Products.
The focus of this position will involve analysis and support of existing and emerging Managed & Advisory products and tools. The systems analyst will need to collaborate extensively with the other squads within the same product area and domain as well as across the enterprise partnering with a varied set of business and technology partners. They will be a key member of an agile delivery squad and will be actively involved in all aspects of the design. The individual will need to gain a deep understanding of the existing Managed applications and business to assist in requirements and design of updated technology solutions.
- Lead and contribute to new product technical visioning/solutions
- Understand and contribute to scalable technical solutions
- Examine and analyze existing IT systems and business models and identify requirements
- Review current code to ensure data validation and business rules for new deployment
- Assist in defining project scope based on analysis of business requirements and existing systems
- Write user stories which include concise and clear system requirements that will be used by developers to implement API updates, data stores and user interfaces
- Produce use case documents and functional solutions to achieve project goals
- Sheppard implementation of a new system including data migration where needed
- Develop subject matter expertise for assigned components
- Participate in the development and review of test plans by QA
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 5-7 years of Systems Analysis experience within the IT field, financial services, or related environment
- Experience with systems development methodologies and formal documentation processes. Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience is expected.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Technology-related field preferred.
- Knowledge of API Development, AWS (Cloud) Migration, UI Design, Data Design and Workflow/Process Automation is strongly preferred
- You have strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a highly-matrixed environment, involving multiple partners, technical groups, COEs, squads, product areas and domains
- Experience working in an environment with multiple applications and integrations
- Demonstrated ability to work across cross functional teams
- You are a technical problem solver, who can work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, engaging, collaborating and supporting capabilities across-product areas and domains
- Proactive, with a strong desire to learn and become a contributor to a highly functioning team.
- Proven understanding of the financial services industry, attained through training and application experience.

The Team
Fidelity Institutional provides products and services to banks, broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, family offices, and other financial intermediaries to meet their brokerage and banking needs. The FI technology platform is delivered to these external clients, primarily via web-based and mobile applications, application programming interfaces, transmission files, and collaborates with third-party applications. Some of these offerings include trading, account servicing and maintenance, account opening and money movement, reporting, analytics, and data delivery and presentation.
