Children's Wisconsin has an opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team!
Location: Hybrid and but must be local to Milwaukee
Job Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, deploying, configuring, and maintaining high-end switching, routing, IP Telephony, wireless, security, and network management in a complex environment. The individual will lead multiple projects, be highly organized and flexible, and stay up to date on technological advancements. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Administer and maintain Cisco VPN, Firewalls, ISE, and Cisco Call Manager.
Manage DNS, DHCP, and DDI services.
Oversee the configuration and optimization of the enterprise load balancing solution.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation, utilizing SolarWinds NPM and Cisco Catalyst Center.
Network impact analysis, modeling, and network capacity planning
Stay current with the latest network technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and personal growth.
Provide technical support and mentor junior engineers and other team members.
Document network configurations, changes, and incidents to maintain accurate records.
Operate with a systems design mindset, driving towards a better service experience and proactive improvements.
Perform other duties that are vital for the efficient operations of the department and organization.
What you will need:
Cisco CCNP Certification or equivalent experience
7 -10 years of network engineering experience in a complex enterprise network environment.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing, diagramming, effective email skills, and demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with diverse groups at all levels of the organization and its vendors and affiliates.
Advanced experience in configuring all types of Cisco hardware, Cisco IOS, and NX-OS, SD-Access, SD-WAN, Meraki configurations, network routing, and troubleshooting.
Extensive knowledge of Cisco VPN, Firewalls, ISE, wireless, and Cisco Call Manager.
Experience with Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and DDI management platform.
Experience in network/voice performance tuning skills and troubleshooting, including packet captures and analysis.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high-risk body fluids.
This role may require occasional travel to other office locations or data centers.
