The Senior Accountant maintains fiscal files, assists in bank reconciliations and budget development/maintenance and fields inquiries for fiscal information. The Senior Accountant also assists the Controller in compliance with all fiscal procedures, accounting principles, and reporting requirements of the agency and its subsidiaries and all funders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares subsidiaries’ fiscal reports for funding sources, including closeout reports.
- Prepares draws from government agencies as required by the contracts.
- Coordinates with planning staff and program directors to ensure cost recovery on all grants and contracts.
- Prepares invoices to granting agencies as required.
- Manages recordkeeping systems for tracking and reporting and performs account analysis.
- Monitors spending/run rate against key grants and contracts on a monthly basis and provides the information to program directors to adjust spending accordingly.
- Performs financial analysis on programs.
- Performs intra-agency analysis and balance total agency.
- Participates in monthly program staff meetings and initiates follow-up activity as necessary.
- Prepares financial statements and account analysis for CACLV’s subsidiaries.
- Handles the inter-agency activities and billings of CACLV and subsidiaries.
- Assists with budget revision projections and variance analysis.
- Enters budgets to accounting software.
- Maintains charts of accounts for subsidiaries.
- Prepares journal entries and the monthly closing of financial records for subsidiaries.
- Prepares spreadsheets as requested.
- Streamlines processes where applicable.
- Helps prepare for the annual audit.
- Performs on-site program visits as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
