Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will welcome challenges and will not just focus on adhering to the current processes and procedures but will also challenge the status quo through best practices and past experiences. Candidates should have a passion for learning and a willingness to lean in and develop processes and procedures to take us to the next level.  

Key Responsibilities:  

Fixed Assets Accounting 

  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger. 

  • Record asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in accordance with company policy and GAAP. 

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset roll-forwards and reporting. 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of fixed asset policies and procedures. 

  • Seek out “best practice” solutions to streamline fixed asset processes.  

  • Work with Senior Accounting Manager to develop a workflow narrative and internal controls over fixed assets. 

  • Support external audits by providing detailed fixed asset schedules and documentation. 

ASC 842 Lease Accounting 

  • Manage the lease accounting process in compliance with ASC 842. 

  • Maintain lease accounting schedules and ensure timely updates for new, modified, or terminated leases. 

  • Collaborate with real estate and legal teams to gather lease data and ensure accurate accounting treatment. 

  • Post monthly journal entries generated by lease accounting software and prepare reconciliations for lease liabilities and right-of-use (ROU) assets. 

  • Support external audits by providing detailed lease schedules and documentation. 

General Ledger & Ad Hoc Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and post various journal entries during month-end close process.  

  • Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and variance analysis. 

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from management. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data. 

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting  

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred 

  • Workday Financials experience is a plus 

  • 5 years of experience in accounting required  

  • 1+ years fixed asset accounting experience for a public (or large private company)  

  • ASC 842 accounting experience a plus 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
