The opportunity
We are seeking an Accountant to join the Reinsurance Accounting team. In this role, you will support the financial and accounting needs of reinsurance contracts, contribute to our business plans, and assist the team with our month end deliverables. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the budgeting and forecasting outputs provided by the team and maintaining effective relationships across our finance and stakeholder groups.
Your new role
Key responsibilities include:
Fulfill the financial and accounting requirements of reinsurance contracts and support timely deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the administration of premium and calculation of premium adjustments.
Contribute to the team’s business plan to enhance productivity and performance.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting for reinsurance contracts, ensuring accuracy and insight.
Ensure all processes are documented, accessible, and align with our policies and procedures.
Maintain strong relationships with finance and wider stakeholders, facilitating efficient and effective collaboration.
Prepare and review journals, payments, audit outputs, supporting ad-hoc projects as needed.
About you
You are a detail-oriented individual with a solid foundation in accounting and finance within the insurance or reinsurance space. You are flexible in taking on diverse tasks, possess a problem-solving attitude, and appreciate a collaborative work environment.
Essential Experience:
CA/CPA qualified, preferably with experience in reinsurance or general insurance.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with analytical tools such as PowerBI and/or Alteryx.
Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software and data reconciliation.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
