Description

Summary

The Recruiter develops and executes sourcing, recruiting, and screening initiatives to attract and hire diverse and well-qualified talent for the organization. Reporting to the Director of HR, the Recruiter is expected to consult with hiring managers and business leaders to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for new hires, then implement and guide hiring managers and candidates through the end-to-end hiring process. Additionally, the Recruiter manages sourcing initiatives, including attending career fairs, developing relationships with external training and education programs and schools, and maintaining EHN’s Applicant Tracking System in Paycom.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility, but regularly provides guidance to managers regarding recruiting and hiring best practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, HR Generalists, and other leaders to identify hiring criteria and maintain up-to-date job descriptions.
  • Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on available roles, industry standards, and organizational needs.
  • Manage job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screen applications and select qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews, and oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials and evaluation forms.
  • Assist with the interview process, including attending and conducting interviews as needed.
  • Perform phone screens.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager, HR Generalist, and other leaders during the offer process to determine pay rates, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Research, attend, and participate in job fairs.
  • Maintain accuracy of candidate data in Paycom’s Applicant Tracking System.
  • Manage the career page of EyeHealth Northwest.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in labor markets, hiring and recruiting strategies, and benefits/compensation offerings.
  • Assist Director of HR with other HR projects and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience; Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • Two years of experience in a recruiting function.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with particular aptitude in conducting interviews.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adjust priorities as circumstances dictate.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking skills in sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Thorough and up-to-date understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Ability to remain professional, tactful, and composed at all times, and operate with sound judgement and discretion.

 

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Occasional travel to locations within the Portland metropolitan area. 
  • Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated and moderately paced environment.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time.
