Job Summary

As our Principal Network Engineer, you’ll be the backbone of our secure network architecture. You’ll take charge of designing, implementing, and managing advanced network security hardware and software systems. From proactively identifying vulnerabilities to leading incident response efforts, your expertise will directly protect LDP's digital infrastructure and sensitive data.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, influence security policy, and help shape a robust, forward-thinking IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and secure complex network systems (Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs).

  • Lead the implementation of firewall solutions and perimeter defense strategies.

  • Perform vulnerability assessments, security audits, and risk analyses.

  • Optimize network performance while maintaining airtight security compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).

  • Respond to incidents and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Stay ahead of evolving threats, recommending and implementing best-in-class solutions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years in Network Security Administration/Engineering

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP, CCIE) or equivalent expertise

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Expert in TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (EIGRP), DNS/DHCP, and SNMP

  • Advanced skills in firewall configuration, VPNs, VOIP, IDS/IPS, and remote access

  • Proficient with Cisco Catalyst 9300 series switches and network design tools

  • Experience using tools like Wireshark for traffic analysis

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST)

Our employees are distributed in office locations in multiple markets across the United States. We are unable to hire or allow employees to work outside of the United States. * This position is Fully Remote but will require occasional travel to office or data center locations. *

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $190,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.


 

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
