Citizens Health is recruiting a Financial Counselor to work full-time in our Financial Services department.

Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital

Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic

Prairie Senior - a skilled nursing facility

Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce

Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business

Location: 100 E College Ave, Colby, Kansas

 

Position Information: Coordinate payment plans for patients, find resources for insurance or other payment sources, assist patients to understand expected costs for upcoming procedures and other financial related activities

 

Days: Monday through Friday

 

Hours:  8am to 5pm

 

Pay Range:  Dependent upon experience.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Identify problem accounts with payers; investigate and correct errors, follow-up on missing account information, and resolve past-due accounts.
  • Answer inquiries by phone regarding past-due accounts and insurance guidelines; research incorrect addresses for past-due accounts.
  • Contact responsible party to resolve delinquent accounts; prepare payment plans and monitor adherence to plans by responsible party; direct accounts to outside collection agencies when necessary.
  • May contact attorneys, employers, physicians, and others necessary to obtain information for resolution of credit and collection matters.
  • Prepare reports to identify and resolve accounts receivable and referral problems.
  • Post data; verify and perform mathematical computations; maintain files.
  • Compose and type routine correspondence, memos, letters, etc.
  • Complete other duties as assigned per organizational need
