Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in Fort Huachuca, AZ.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a Secret Clearance
  • Non-remote (on‑site position)

The Network Engineer will support the Department of Defense Information Network-Army (DoDIN-A) as part of a highly skilled team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical communications and data networks. In this role, you will configure, optimize, and secure enterprise-level network infrastructure to ensure the availability, resilience, and performance required for Army operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, administer, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and related network hardware and software.
  • Monitor network integrity using industry‑standard tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and security issues.
  • Design, develop, and support critical voice, video, radio frequency, and data communications networks to ensure secure and reliable system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement Requests for Change (RFCs) and maintain IAVA compliance.
  • Support NetOps capability integration to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, and procedures.
  • Create plans and configure systems for complex data communication networks supporting Army missions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure issues to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Apply engineering design processes to plan and implement network enhancements and improvements.
  • Coordinate acquisition, installation, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance for network hardware and software, including backup and recovery processes.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • IAT Level III Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.).
  • Five (5+) years of related experience in network engineering or network administration.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and Microsoft enterprise products.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of cybersecurity compliance standards.
  • Experience with routing and switching technologies, including Layer 2/Layer 3 architecture.
  • Proficient in telecommunications and data communications systems, including WAN technologies.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency with NetOps tools and network performance monitoring.
  • Advanced troubleshooting expertise, including packet analysis, fault isolation, and performance optimization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of DoD cybersecurity compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of advanced networking technologies, such as Cisco platforms or VMware network solutions.
  • Experience developing or modifying technical documentation (SOPs, network diagrams, processes).
  • Strong self‑starter with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
