An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Power BI Analyst / Accountant to join a public sector organisation based south of the river. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong Power BI modelling experience who can transform complex financial data into actionable insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Extract, clean, and model financial data from multiple sources to improve data-driven insights.
• Work closely with finance and operational teams to identify reporting needs and automate financial processes where possible.
• Provide in-depth analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial performance using Power BI and other tools.
• Assist with month-end reporting, variance analysis, and financial reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial data and reporting models.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
• Stay updated with best practices in Power BI, data analytics, and financial reporting.

Key Requirements

• Accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong finance background.
• Proven experience in Power BI development including data modelling, DAX, and report visualisation.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, reporting, and budgeting.
• Experience in working with large datasets and integrating multiple financial systems.
• Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, VBA is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear business insights.
• Experience in the public sector is desirable but not essential.
