Lauded NoHo favorite il Buco Restaurant is looking for experienced line cooks to join our team.

The il Buco culinary philosophy is firmly rooted in the Italian tradition of seasonality and the integrity of all ingredients and is inspired by mother Italy as well as the Iberian Peninsula. We celebrate the authenticity and ethos of all things Mediterranean!

The Requirements for Success are:

  • Ability to work multiple stations: Hotline required;
  • Quality Control- Proficient in protein cooking, temperature doneness, ensuring foods are being prepared according to the Alimentari & Vineria standards;
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. As a line cook, you will play a crucial role in maintaining these standards, ensuring that our food prep and storage unit areas are always safe and sanitary;
  • Advanced knife skills;
  • We value teamwork. As a line cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen, communicating with all levels, from Dishwashers to Executive Chefs, and contributing to our shared success;
  • Assist with kitchen DOH prep and maintenance, as needed by chefs. 

You have:

  • 3+ years NYC experience
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self motivated and disciplined
  • Looking to inspire others through passion for cooking
  • Flexible availability: AM, PM, Weekends and Holidays 
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and food quality.
  • Able to read, write, and speak in English and Spanish-required for communication within a multilingual kitchen team.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Standing for 4 to 8 hours per shift with occasional bending and reaching.
  • Ability to work in a restaurant environment with varying temperatures.
