About us

School of the Nations, 聯國學校, is an internationally-oriented day school in Central Taipa. It was founded by members of the Macau Baha’i community over 30 years ago to serve the local and expatriate communities. At present, over 650 students from K1 to Form 6 are instructed by a diverse teaching staff of about 110 and supported by 30 office and custodial staff.

SON is dedicated to nurturing the physical, intellectual, and spiritual development of children and developing their capabilities to contribute to the well-being of their families and communities. As an IB World School, the school offers the IBDP Diploma in Form 5 and 6, while students completing Form 3 and 4 are prepared to sit the IGCSE Exam. Yet our programmes are all integrated and go well beyond these exams, especially in the area of character development. Our framework and approach have contributed to the strides our students have made in both academics and character.

Our administrative and office operations also aim to increasingly reflect the high standards our students strive towards, for example, of integrity, diligence, selflessness, humility, and cooperation.

Working Hours & Schedule

Office staff work 40 hours per week. Each month during the academic year there are occasional working Saturdays—which often foster community engagement and extension activities. There are almost three weeks of Macau and school holidays throughout the year and office staff are entitled to a further 18 days of annual leave, which can be taken during the year.

Compensation & Benefits

Benefits include reduced tuition for up to two dependents to enroll in the school—additional consideration may be given for admissions. The monthly salary follows a fixed salary scale, depending on the seniority of the role offered. Applicants can inquire about the salary range.
