We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Human Resources Coordinator. This role is based in our facility in Lawton, Oklahoma and reports to the Human Resources Business Partner.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an HR Coordinator who will implement Human Resource principles in a wide range of activities such as recruitment and orientation, payroll coordination, compensation and benefits, provision of Corporate Training, support and application of HR programs as well as being the main point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries for the hourly plant employees. This individual will be involved with Continuous improvement initiatives which will promote optimal team engagement. The HR Coordinator will primarily support the Lawton facility, with periodic support being given to a secondary location. 

Principal Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for weekly payroll and time & attendance.
• Responsible  for  answering  all  first  level  HR  related  inquiries,  to  Managers  and  hourly
employees; this will necessitate regular time on the Production floor and Warehouse area (PPE required).
• Liaison between corporate HR, Payroll, and the employees regarding Benefits, Payroll,
HR, time & attendance, etc.
• Creates and maintains location specific reference manuals, standards, policies,
procedures, and work instructions that fall under the scope of Human Resources
• Maintains accurate and up to date personnel records for all employees - attendance
records, training records, performance appraisals, reviews, etc.
• Develops  and  maintains  HR  monthly  reports  for  Location  Management  –  turnover,
absenteeism, manpower, STD hours, and recruitment
 

Recruitment, Selection and Retention:
• Supports  full  cycle  recruitment  efforts  in  coordination  with  Talent  Acquisition  and  the
Hiring Manager for all hourly personnel and skilled trades.
• Job fairs – coordinates the participation in, and works at job fairs providing information
about the organization and job opportunities to potential applicants
• Develops effective onboarding procedures and conducts new employee orientation
• Provides relevant HR training to hourly employees (AODA, Respect in the Workplace,
Privacy, etc.)
• Supports and help facilitate performance management plans
• Assist in creating training Matrix
• Monitors 30-60-90 day evaluations, and notify Supervisor when due
• Conduct Exit Interviews for hourly employees
• Administer Claims Management and Return to Work for Non-Occupational injuries or
illnesses in coordination with Employee Relations and HSE, as applicable.
• Publish Quarterly Newsletter and important memo communications for employees

Employee engagement:

Develops and administers effective rewards and recognition programs
• Coordinates and carries out various Employee Engagement activities and
opportunities in coordination with Management.

• Conduct  Stay  Interviews  and  other  various  survey  options  to  assist  Management  in
gathering feedback from employees.
 

Performs  other  duties  and  assumes  other  responsibilities  as  may  be  assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience required; preferably with generalist focus

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering and processing Payroll required

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

  • University or College Diploma in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is an asset

  • Previous experience with an automated time and attendance system (e.g. Kronos, Dayforce) is an asset

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations

  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
