JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Human Resources Clerk assists in day-to-day human resources tasks. The Human Resources Clerk has the essential role of maintaining records, preparing a variety of documents, and carrying out administrative functions to support human resources procedures and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answers phones and routes calls accordingly.
Answers general questions regarding the resort.
Greets visitors and employees, responds to onsite general inquiries and provides customer service assistance.
Answers routine questions concerning various subjects, such as, the on-boarding process, benefits eligibility, and knowledge of departmental schedules.
Assists employees requesting to be seen by Human Resources. Assists in administering the employees’ benefits program, including open enrollment.
Assist in the recruitment process, schedules interviews, new hire orientation and licensing training.
Schedules and organizes meetings as needed.
Processes time off requests for all departments.
Assembles pay checks and attendance verification sheets weekly.
Distribute and explain forms, such as, time off requests & policy updates/changes as needed.
Scans and indexes various documents into electronic files.
Maintains and reviews attendance, including the call out hot-line log.
Sorts and distributes mail.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (includes Education and Experience)
1 year of clerical experience in Human Resources.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality of human resources information
Must possess a high level of communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, while shifting priorities as needed.
Skill in dealing tactfully and professionally with internal and external customers, including discourteous or irritated customers.
Ability to establish and maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships.
Knowledge of office practices and procedures and good understanding of HR operations.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Outlook® and various in-house software programs.
May be required to work weekends, holidays and extended hours if needed.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
2 years’ experience as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and analyze documentation following organizational protocols to meet business goals.
Ability to write, read, effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others through the use of the telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Skill and ability to meet people and listen.
MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS
Understanding of basic accounting principles.
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and required to reach with hands and arms. There is some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. May be required to move tables and chairs. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. There is constant operation of a computer and telephone; and other office productivity machinery such as but not limited to calculator, copy machine, printer, and fax machine. The employee may be lifting up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
