POSITION: HR Administrator
FLSA: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Human Resource
REPORTS TO: Human Resource Director
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated HR Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This entry-level position is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in HR. The HR Administrator will support day-to-day administrative operations, assist with onboarding, maintain employee records, and help ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
- Prepare and maintain employee records, both digital and physical
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork and conducting orientations
- Maintain HR databases and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general information
- Help coordinate employee events, trainings, and recognition programs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal employment laws
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Assist the HR team with special projects as needed
Qualification:
- 0-2 years of administrative or HR-related experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn and grow within the HR field
- ADP Experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Experience working with international employees or cultural exchange programs
- Familiarity with HRIS systems or applicant tracking systems
- Understanding of basic employment laws and HR best practices
- Spanish speaking a plus
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
- Required to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, climb and walk.
- Occasional lifting of objects of up to 50 pounds.
- Some off-hours or weekend availability required.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma OR GED.
License and Certification Requirement(s)
Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license.
