The Role
The Financial Accountant will provide support to the Head of Finance with overseeing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. They will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s strategic decision-making process and ensuring financial stability.
Responsibilities
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess:
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with financial analysis, reconciliations, cashflow management, budgeting / forecasting and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial modelling tools, with advanced Excel capabilities
• Excellent communication and friendly people skills with an open and supportive communication style
• Strong understanding of the mining industry, including cost control, project accounting, and compliance with relevant financial regulations
Qualification and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area
• CA or CPA certification
• Minimum 4 years of experience is required, with some of that experience specifically in the mining industry
• Prior experience in a Big 4 firm and strong audit expertise
• Demonstrated experience in managing internal and external audit processes
• Experience with J-SOX compliance and implementation
• Experience with Business Central and Business Dynamics
