Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources leads and develops HR strategy, ensuring compliance with employment laws and aligning HR initiatives with the overall business goals while managing a team of HR professionals. This role also oversees all benefits programs, including the leave management program.
Essential Functions:
Lead and develop comprehensive HR strategies aligned with company objectives, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, Safety, and employee engagement initiatives. Anticipate, identify, and analyze trends and metrics that could impact Valdese Weavers' goals.
Provide leadership in areas including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and ESOP benefits, performance management, and safety.
Recruit, retain, and minimize absenteeism and turnover.
Oversee the administration of associate benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA, ESOP, and 401(k) wellness initiatives and leave programs; ensure compliance and conduct open enrollment.
Collaborate with Continuous Improvement on Workforce Development Training Initiatives and grants.
Assess Company policy for impact and effectiveness, including developing and implementing new policies as needed across the organization.
Establish HR team goals, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to direct reports.
Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of all the NC labor laws and regulations, including safety (OSHA), discrimination, family/medical leave, and federal and employment laws.
Work closely with all company departmental managers to understand their needs and opportunities to improve work relationships, build morale, and improve productivity and retention.
Lead, organize, develop, and communicate corporate policies to all associates. Provide resolutions for both the associate and the company.
Provide effective leadership for an inclusive culture and an open-door policy for communication.
Monitor all safety initiatives and program effectiveness.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulation changes, and new technologies in HR management.
