Here is what you will be doing:
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Compile financial information to prepare entries to book payables and receipts to proper general ledger accounts and class allocations. Process payments timely and clear QBO bank feeds daily.
- Reconcile payroll journal entries on bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions on a monthly basis. Create intercompany invoices.
- Verify all credit card transactions are coded and allocated accurately.
- Verify all corporate Pex card transactions are coded and allocated accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of company and division annual budgets.
- Coordinate activities with division property accounting teams.
- Process month-end close and create monthly financial analysis reporting of various financial metrics and information.
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Provide advice and assistance of such problems as excessive charges and potential penalties.
- Participate in special projects as requested by senior management.
- Assist with year-end 1099 process
- Enter budget information
- Assist with monthly financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and other departments
- Perform required accounting functions such as reconciling accounting schedules to the general ledger, tracking Balance Sheet account activity, making journal entries, reconciling bank and mortgage statements, preparing supporting work papers, etc.
- Understand and comply with accounting policies and procedures; recommend and implement process improvements as appropriate
- Regularly interact with various levels of management and other departments as well as with auditors, lenders and other 3rd parties; prepare additional reports and analysis as required by various parties
- Assist with on-boarding of new accountants; cross-check team members work; develop positive working relationships with employees throughout the company.
- Special projects and other duties, as assigned by Accounting Manager, Controller and President.
