Role:

The Business Systems Analyst I plays a crucial role in supporting Rogue Credit Union's strategic goals by leading project teams to design and deliver effective solutions. This position acts as the primary liaison among business owners, developers, project managers, vendors, and end users to ensure cohesive project execution. The BSA I supports cross-functional stakeholders by conducting current state analysis, documenting business needs, and recommending solutions. Serves as a proxy for business units on multiple projects, offering subject matter expertise, support, training, and testing for strategic initiatives. Partners with business leaders to align project efforts with the credit union's strategic goals and consistently contributes to the success of the Projects & Strategic Execution department, upholding the credit union's Vision, Mission, and Values.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

65%   Supports cross-functional stakeholders by conducting current state analysis, documenting business needs, and recommending solutions. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand, document, validate, and test business requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Assists in identifying current and future business needs, translating them into actionable documentation, and ensuring a smooth transition to operational stakeholders.

 

10%   Collaborates with business leaders to gather and document initial requirements for new projects and initiatives. Supports prioritization efforts by ensuring sufficient detail for resource allocation and next steps.

 

10%   Develops personal competencies and deepens industry knowledge through independent learning and team collaboration. Contributes to process improvements within the Projects & Strategic department.

 

10%   Proactively performs other related duties as required

 

5%    Provides documentation, training and insights as a subject matter expert within the department. Redirects inquiries to appropriate resources when necessary.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience. 

 

Education: A high school education or GED. A four-year degree in a relevant field and/or familiarity with International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) competencies preferred.

 

Interpersonal SkillsWork involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

 

Other SkillsThis role requires a highly competent and quick learner who is self-motivated and organized. Key skills include a strong focus on results, quality, and attention to detail, along with effective time management and prioritization. Flexibility to handle changes and juggle priorities is essential. Must be a team player, capable of working with mixed teams of business and technical resources, and comfortable interacting with senior management. Effective communication with all stakeholders, the ability to analyze and assess complexities, and risk management are crucial.

 

Physical RequirementsSome adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

 

Work EnvironmentThis job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
