About the Role
The Huntington’s Finance team is seeking an Accountant who is proactive, self-directed, and who will be an exceptional addition to our team. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, responsibilities include the timely and accurate processing of admission, filming, membership, contribution and other revenue transactions from a multitude of sources. The candidate will have a good understanding of finance/accounting reporting, processes, procedures and internal controls. Essential Duties

On a daily basis, record admissions, membership, contribution and pledge revenue from a variety of sources (i.e., cash, check, credit card, ACH, lockbox, stock gifts, other online channels, etc.) and work with department staff to determine the correct general ledger and revenue allocations
Perform monthly contribution and membership reconciliations with the Advancement Team’s donor management database (Raiser’s Edge)
Prepare customer invoices and revenue recognition activities with close coordination with the Special Events and Filming Departments
Support other revenue related activities as needed (back-up):
Record daily membership, admission, and program revenue (and respective processing fees) using external reports provided by our third-party ticketing system (Ticketure)
Record daily Huntington Store retail revenue using external reports provided by our third-party point of sale systems (Teamwork & Shopify)
Adhere to the month- and quarter-end general ledger close timelines and any external audit requests
Candidate Requirements and Experience
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a nonprofit institution
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and its key functions (i.e., pivot tables, vlookups)
Basic accounting principles (GAAP) understanding, specifically around revenue and accounts receivable
Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
Effective planning and priority setting; ability to manage several workstreams of various complexity while meeting various deadlines
Strong work ethic, well organized, and a self-starter
Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Workday software system experience (highly preferred)
Working Conditions
This position is based at The Huntington’s offices in San Marino, CA. Working hours will be 37.5 hours per week.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment; prolonged periods of sitting, use of computers and standard office equipment required to accomplish work objectives.
Remote work up to two days per week may be possible.
