 Some of your essential duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be primarily responsible for Accounts Payable by processing invoices, tracking vendor payments and working with vendors and departments to ensure timely and accurately payments.
  • Review critical general ledger accounts daily, including vault cash, transit checks, nonpost accounts, loan suspense accounts, cash over/short accounts, etc. Work with departments/branches to get the issues resolved timely.
  • Assist with month-end closing, including preparing month end journal entries and financial statements in accordance with GAAP, FASB standards and NCUA regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist with quarterly NCUA call report, including preparing supporting schedules and pages. 
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations in full detail and address/resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly branch cost accounting reports, including analysis of allocations and branch profitability to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain loan/share data including uploading loan/share files into the data warehouse (Visible Equity) and performing related reconciliations.
  • Prepare financials for Financial Resources FCU Foundation.
  • Prepare routine reports for management to monitor loans, deposits and liquidity, such as weekly share/loan report and cash balancing report 
  • Be responsible for cash management activities, including monitoring daily cash balance, forecasting liquidity position and determining borrowing needs.
  • Ensure all activities are in accordance with GAAP and the accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform and monitor activities of fixed assets and prepaid expenses.  
  • Update accounting procedure manual as required/needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits/examinations.
  • Prepare special and recurring reports relating to accounting activity.
  • Take initiative to make recommendations for improvements. Be an information source for colleagues.

We as that you have the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 2 years of related accounting experience
  • Professional, well-developed, interpersonal skills necessary for communicating with members, visitors, callers, vendors and co-workers
  • Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving percentages, fractions, decimals, algebra, etc)
  • A strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, NCUA Rules and Regulations and FASB standards
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs with advanced Excel skills
