About Us

At Jacaranda Finance, we’re a fully online, Australian-owned digital lender on a mission to help mainstream Australians build better financial futures. Through inclusive access to finance, comprehensive credit reporting, and transparent financial education, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of customers – and we’re just getting started.

Over the past decade, we’ve grown from a two-person team to a thriving business of over 70 employees (plus three very friendly office dogs). We’ve earned a string of awards, stellar customer reviews, and a Great Place to Work certification – and we’re continuing to grow.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a key role supporting the day-to-day finance function, automation initiatives, and accurate financial reporting across the business and investor group.

If you’re a process-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves continuous improvement, and wants to play a role in transforming how Australians access finance, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations, GL reviews, and cash flow forecasting
  • Support month-end close and prepare journal entries, accruals, and reports
  • Partner with teams across the business to provide financial insights
  • Assist in managing investor ledgers, distributions, and statements
  • Oversee daily treasury and cash flow updates for funding decisions
  • Ensure compliance with ASIC and internal finance controls
  • Support audits, tax obligations (BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax), and payroll processing
  • Drive automation and process improvements using tools like QuickBooks, Excel, and Power BI (or similar)

About You

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • 2+ years in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Payroll experience and QuickBooks (or similar platform) proficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, macros, automation formulas)
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and driven to improve systems and processes
  • Strong communicator and collaborator across all levels of the business

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in the lending or financial services sector
  • Knowledge of ASIC compliance
  • Power BI (or similar) or data analytics tools
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)

Why join Jacaranda?

  • We prioritise personal and professional development. We fund personal and professional development initiatives up to $1,000 per annum.
  • We offer growth opportunities internally, and a number of our people have advanced their careers and worked within different teams at Jacaranda.
  • A well-balanced hybrid work environment with the ability to work from the office as well as from home.
  • We shout everyone one coffee per day at our local cafe which serves really good coffee. We understand the importance of a coffee to kick start the morning.
  • We have three office dogs who make a regular appearance in the office, who love a good belly scratch.
  • We have modern offices based in Milton equipped with plenty of indoor plants to keep the oxygen to the brain flowing with breakout areas both indoors and outdoors.
  • One of our core values is to ‘Celebrate The Wins’ which sees us celebrating at a team level and at a company level regularly. Building rapport among the different teams is critical, as we all play a role as one team to help the company achieve its goals.
  • Every month we have our Core Value Awards Lunch which is where we recognise our employees who go above and beyond and who consistently demonstrate our values.
  • Monthly 1:1’s and quarterly reviews are standard. This is an opportunity to build a relationship with your direct report and to give one another feedback on what’s going well and what’s not going well. You’ll know exactly what is expected of you at all times.
  • We’re proud to partner with Emmanuel City Mission, a Brisbane-based homeless drop-in centre providing essential support to those doing it tough. Each month, a group of Jacaranda team members volunteers on-site, helping to serve meals and connect with the community.

This is your chance to step up, shape the future of finance, and grow with a company that’s making a real difference. If you love what you do and want to be part of something exciting, we’d love to hear from you!
