Position Summary:
A Unit Support Technician is responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing supportive patient care and utilization of the nursing process related to patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. A Unit Support Technician is responsible and accountable for assisting the RN in the provision of patient care and tending to the unit needs as assigned by the RN.
Responsibilities
- Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities, leaves for meal break on time and returns on time, ensures all overtime had been approved by the department head prior to working, schedules all time off with supervisor approval, & strictly adheres to hospital attendance/tardiness policies 100% of the time.
- Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information communicated at meetings & reads communications and acts upon in a positive and informative manner.
- Reads and comprehends the company's Standards of Conduct. During the past evaluation period,
has demonstrated compliance with the company's Ethics program & has participated in one hour of Standards of Conduct training within the last 12 months,
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
American Heart Association BLS
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively and multitask; excellent
listening skills; courteous and empathetic demeanor.
