We are a Specialty Food Market within Denver Metro, and we are searching for an amazing Staff Accountant! The ideal candidate must show demonstrated experience in the accounting field with solid knowledge of QuickBooks.  The candidate must also possess strong organization and communication skills with a flair for being extremely detailed and have the ability to solve problems - all in a Team environment.  This is a high volume transaction position and is great for someone who wants to get into a Senior Level position and be part of the Marczyk Team.  If you are a Foodie even better - but still ok if you’re not!  Just get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in!
 
Key Responsibilities
 
This position will be account for several entities that cover C Corp, S Corp, and LLCs at both the Retail and Wholesale levels 
Primary functions include responsibility for full AP & AR Processing, Bank & Supplier statement reconciliation, weekly cash sweeps, daily cash audits, and handling of invoice payments and discrepancies
Ensure accuracy and proper GL coding of all credit card transactions for retail goods and services to include manual entry of credit card statements and receipt / statement reconciliation
Manage daily GL file and A/R importing into QuickBooks and reconcile journal entries
Handle external invoicing and AR management for Wholesale customers
All payroll activities are entered via J/E from our payroll processor
Execute Monthly Closing Duties, reconcile Payables, Accruals, and prepare Financials Statements
Create Financial Metric Reporting as required weekly, monthly, or quarterly
Conduct monthly Financial Presentation to Senior Management Team
Prepare and File Monthly Sales/Use Tax Returns
Manage Supplier W9’s and assist in year end 1099 processing
Manage Fixed Asset Management and handle assigned special projects as needed
Create Annual Budget and review monthly
Identify any cost savings measures regularly to Senior Management
Manage key company documents per stated company retention policies
This position tends to be the “go to” place for help, guidance, and problem solving across the company

Demonstrated computer skills with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Must be able to easily grasp our Retail Management Software (ECRS Catapult)

Reliable method of transportation to travel between retail locations
 
Education / Prior Experience
 
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
3-5 years’ experience in an office accounting setting – retail environment a plus but not mandatory
Pre-employment background checks will be conducted
