You + Numbers = Magic.

Salary - $55,000 to $70,0000 per year (final amount will be dependent on experience)

If spreadsheets make your heart skip a beat and reconciling books is your version of a puzzle-solving adventure, we’ve got a seat with your name on it.

We’re on the hunt for a detail-loving, strategic-minded, confidentiality-honoring Staff Accountant to help us keep our financial house (and our CEO’s) running like a well-oiled machine. This isn’t your average number-crunching gig—this role plays a big part in helping us make smart, strategic moves as a company and ensures our founder’s personal finances are just as on-point as our balance sheet.

🚀 Why This Role Rocks

At SelfPublishing.com, we’re on a mission to help 100,000 people publish a book by 2035—and it all starts with making sure our business is financially rock solid. You’ll be at the heart of that mission, bringing clarity to our financial data, and insights to our leadership.

You’ll also be a trusted right-hand to our CEO, helping manage and streamline his personal finances with excellence, integrity, and top-tier confidentiality.

  • 2+ years of Accounting/Business Analysis experience
  • 2+ years of Bookkeeping experience
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
  • Top-notch written & verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to confidentiality and integrity
  • Master multitasker who can prioritize like a pro
  • Solid grasp of accounting and corporate finance principles
  • Sharp eye for details (you spot the $0.02 discrepancy no one else does)

Bonus Points (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Master’s degree or CPA (we love pros who go the extra mile)
  • Experience with financial forecasting and statistical analysis
  • You enjoy leveling up—continuous learning is your thing
  • You notice data patterns like Sherlock Holmes notices clues
  • SQL knowledge (a big plus!)

🧭 What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Closing the books with 95%+ accuracy at least 3 days before each monthly Financials With A Coach (FWAC) meeting
  • Executing accounting tasks on time, every time
  • Offering strategic financial insights that influence key decisions
  • Handling corporate and personal transactions efficiently
  • Owning the CEO’s personal financial management (yep, it’s a big deal!)
  • Collaborating with team members like a financial rockstar
  • Thinking analytically and solving problems with precision
  • Communicating clearly and confidently, internally and externally

💻 Tools of the Trade

You should be comfortable navigating:

  • QuickBooks (or a similar accounting platform)
  • Google Sheets + Excel
  • Bill.com, PayPal, Rippling, Asana, Slack, HubSpot
  • Bonus: SQL or data querying tools for deeper insights

🎯 Your Impact

You won’t just be “doing the books.” You’ll be helping fuel our mission to help thousands of authors succeed, while building a rock-solid foundation for our company’s growth—and giving our CEO peace of mind in the process.
