As a Staff Accountant, you will be a key member of the Voleon Group’s management company finance team. The team has a broad mandate and is responsible for managing the books, records, and budgets of the business lines and managing tax filings with external service providers. You will be the second hire to the team, reporting to the Business Manager and will be a vital contributor to the success of the team.

Responsibilities

    • Prepare and book journal entries and assist with the build out of the internal financial framework
    • Ensure all incoming invoices are received and processed and communicate with internal stakeholders on receiving appropriate approvals
    • Prepare month-end management accounts, including monthly reconciliations for internal records, banks, and credit card systems
    • Support the team in closing month-end financials statements, including reviewing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
    • Liaise with fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information and accounting records
    • Assist in review of associated fund related NAV Packages and Investor Statements
    • Review and approve employee expenses in line with company policy
    • Prepare out-going invoices in line with contractual service level agreements
    • Assist with preparation of the company’s financial statements including necessary documentation and responses
    • Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns, ensuring timeliness and accuracy

    • In addition to the items above, you will also be required to take ownership (with supervision of the Business Manager) in general office management including: 

    • Organize recurring office events and annual office parties in line with office budget
    • Communicate with office vendors and oversee general office maintenance
    • Stock office supplies in line with office budget and employee requests

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
    • Knowledge of accounting standards (i.e., IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP) and principles
    • 2+ years workplace experience in a finance team, preferably as a management accountant
    • Understanding of treasury management and multi-currency reporting
    • Proficient with enterprise-level accounting software (Workday, Quickbooks preferred)
    • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy for financial reporting
    • Excellent excel skills
