Staff Accountant
Sante HealthSante Health System in Fresno, CA is looking to hire a full-time Staff Accountant. This position is primarily responsible for the application of a wide range of professional technical accounting principles and procedures required in the maintenance of accounting systems. This position may also provide guidance to accounting staff on day-to-day activity. Provides financial management and analysis in multiple areas including new business development, financial forecasting, revenue and quality enhancement, and analysis in other areas of strategic importance. Acts as an internal consulting resource when needed in a variety of areas under the supervision of the Senior Accountant, Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 4+ years' experience in finance or accounting including experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
- Experience with intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office applications required with advanced use of Microsoft Access and Excel preferred.
Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares capitation reports including analysis and reconciliation.
- Assists in the preparation of general ledgers, journal entries and workpapers.
- Assists with the weekly check run process.
- Provide guidance to other finance staff on accounting related issues.
- Maintain databases and provide analysis in several areas of strategic importance to the organization.
- Assist with Special Projects as required.
- Assist with the IPA budget and related analyses as requested.
- Work directly with Senior Leadership as requested on a variety of projects requiring analysis.
- Perform problem analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in task groups as a systems and finance consultant to the group.
- Develop, maintain and generate required reports including those required by regulatory bodies, Health Plans and delegation standards.
- Attend a variety of meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality in regard to HIPAA requirements, patient account status, Santé and its clients.
