Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

At HCW Development, we believe the details matter—especially when it comes to financial accuracy and strategic growth. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial health of our organization by maintaining accurate records, supporting key audits, and preparing financial reports. You’ll provide critical support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that drives our development and investment decisions forward. This is more than a numbers role—it’s about creating a strong foundation for the future of HCW.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for a variety of financial transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of corporate expenses and intercompany transactions.
• Support bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation requests and report preparation.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data and ensure consistency across financial records.
• Maintain up-to-date records and files to support transparency and audit readiness.
• Contribute to process improvements and standard operating procedures for accounting tasks.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the company.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Accounting experience, preferably in real estate development, construction, or hospitality.
• Strong understanding of general ledger best practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and accountability.
