Are you a self-driven tax professional looking for more freedom, client impact, and future growth? Do you thrive in an environment where relationships matter, flexibility is respected, and your work speaks louder than hours logged?

StaffBuffalo is excited to partner with a well-established and growing boutique accounting firm to hire a Senior Tax Accountant. This is a full-time, on-site position, offering a competitive salary of $85,000–$105,000, with long-term potential for partnership and ownership.

In this high-impact role, you'll work directly with the Partner and a well-rounded group of tax professionals to serve a loyal, diverse client base of commercial businesses—particularly in real estate, manufacturing, and other for-profit industries.

This is an on-site, in-person role based in Western New York.

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for S-Corps, C-Corps, and Partnerships
  • Partner with clients directly to provide proactive tax planning and strategic advice
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior team members
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and client service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on corporate and partnership tax
  • CPA license preferred (or in active pursuit)
  • Deep understanding of federal and state tax law
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to build long-term client relationships
  • A self-starter who wants to take ownership, not just be another employee
  • Comfortable in a business-casual office where “dress for your day” is the norm
  • Someone who thrives in an environment that values flexibility, autonomy, and professionalism without the red tape

Why You’ll Love It:

  • A culture that prioritizes flexibility and independence
  • Direct access to Partners who value mentorship and future growth
  • Fun, community-focused team (lunch outings, cookouts, even a Memorial Day party!)
  • Long-term opportunity to build your niche and grow into leadership
