Recruiter

Location: Chicago

Group One is looking for a Recruiter to support the full talent acquisition life-cycle for all Group One positions which includes job posting, sourcing, resume review, scheduling logistics, process management, gathering feedback and decisions, campus recruiting, communicating to candidates and recruiting firms, etc.

The Challenge

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, Recruiting and Talent Development and Recruiting Manager, to identify strong candidates for open positions. The ideal individual must be highly collaborative and able to build strong relationships both with internal managers (hiring managers, management team, etc.) and external stakeholders (colleges, recruiters, candidate sources). The candidate will develop a deep understanding of Group One's culture and business and enthusiastically share that with applicants.

The Skill Set and Responsibilities

A broad skill set will help you be successful in this role. The essential responsibilities are outlined below.

  • Works closely with MD, Recruiting and Talent Development and Recruiting Manager to source and recommend where to post experienced level positions (i.e. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) and leads the on-campus recruitment efforts for all interns and analysts.
  • Utilizing Applicant Tracking System, reviews resumes submitted for open jobs to determine qualifications and forwards qualified resumes to hiring manager for review.
  • Serves as the primary contact between Group One and external candidates, recruiting search firms, colleges and universities.
  • Communicate frequently with hiring managers on status of resume review and overall recruiting activity for open positions.
  • Conducts pre-screen interviews with potential candidates, gathers interviewer feedback, and coordinates future rounds with internal team and hiring manager.
  • Coordinates candidate travel and housing arrangements.
  • Works with Human Resources to coordinate offer letters, references, pre-employment background screens, etc. as required.
  • Closes filled jobs, removes advertisements, generates rejection letters for all interviews associated with the closed job.
  • Orders and coordinates swag items for new hires.
  • Conducts research into Recruiting trends and educates Recruiting team. Supports social media efforts.
  • Looks for ways to improve the interview process keeping the candidate experience front and center.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Highly collaborative, able to build relationships with all levels of employees, including senior management.
  • Campus recruiting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% especially during recruiting season.
  • Experience with ApplicantPro or other applicant tracking system.
  • Must be able to work in the office 4 days per week.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A RECRUTER

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete your initial orientation as well as become familiar with our environment, our team, and our business.
  • Begin a comprehensive, cross-functional training plan to learn more about every aspect of our firm.

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Understand our recruitment process.
  • Begin screening resumes for our open roles.
  • Be scheduling interviews and coordinating onsite interview days.
  • Attend job fairs and other hiring events.
  • Be sitting in on telephone screens.


Within 6 months, you will:

  • Begin screening and interviewing candidates on your own.
  • Coordinate interviews with the hiring manager and interview panels.
  • Source candidates on your own.
  • Provide onboarding support in coordination with HR.
  • Provide recruitment reports to the recruitment and senior management teams.
  • Work with managers to determine their hiring needs and ideal candidates.
