The Network Engineer-Infrastructure is responsible for the field and onsite build, implementation, and maintenance of network hardware and software. Researches, analyzes, and implements software patches or hardware changes to fix any network deficiencies. Supports the Infrastructure team. Evaluates new products and services. Selects, develops, integrates, and implements network management applications for internet components.

Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution, and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning, and makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting network systems (including wireless) to meet the functional objectives of the business. Involved with the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical network components. Performs capacity and resource planning, assessing network risks and contingency planning.
Maintains all user manuals for network devices. Optimizes the network traffic routes and controls network broadcast storms. Supports the development, creation, and maintenance of current network device configurations, circuit information and operations network diagrams for network infrastructure including the development of database requirements, and establishment of data file backups. Also ensures switches, routers, and other applicable devices and applications are property configured, utilized, and maintained. Performs detailed router scripting and filtering to manage network traffic.


Mentors new team members to ensure a smooth transition from learning environment to daily production environment and may participate in providing formal training. Develops job aides and other tools to assist engineers in improving overall quality of service. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

SQL Server installation/Upgrades Database Structure, Clusters
AZURE Gov Cloud

Exchange Servers – Local

Active Directory Patching/Test/Dev/Prod

VDI Paired Images Patching

MS Windows Server building

License Required
Current MI driver's license required for local travel
