DUTIES: Job duties include but are not limited to designing spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and sustainable. The duties typically include collaborating with clients to understand their needs and desires; inspecting site work to ensure compliance with specifications; analyzing data on conditions such as site location, drainage, or structure location for environmental reports or landscaping plans; identifying structural elements of land areas or other important site information such as soil condition, existing landscaping, or proximity of water management facilities; preparing graphic representations or drawings of proposed plans or designs and producing detailed construction drawings, as well as preparing conceptual drawings, graphics, or other visual representations of land areas to show predicted growth or development over time; identifying and selecting appropriate sustainable materials for use in landscape designs. The landscape architect will also work with estimators to cost projects, create project plans, or coordinate bids from landscaping contractors; collaborate with architects and related professionals on whole building design to maximize aesthetic features of structures or surrounding land and improving energy efficiency; manage and oversee the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure that designs are executed according to specifications and within budget, evaluate quality of materials or work; Their role involves a combination of creativity, mathematical calculations, technical expertise, and environmental stewardship to enhance the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces while respecting natural ecosystems.

Travel may be necessary within 50 miles of Williams County in North Dakota. Including McKenzie County, Mountrail County, Burke County, and Divide County. Travel will be dependent on each project, no overnight stays.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field
  • 2 years of experience in landscape architecture or related field
