The Job


The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is recruiting for an IT Systems Analyst* who administer, maintain, and support enterprise information technology systems and infrastructure. Incumbents may be responsible for managing endpoint devices and related technologies; administering Microsoft cloud-based services; supporting identity and access management systems; maintaining virtual desktop environments; monitoring system performance and security; managing hardware and software assets; and providing technical support within a professionally administered network environment.

Duties may include:

  • Administering and supporting Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), and other endpoint management solutions.
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows 365 cloud environments.
  • Maintaining Active Directory and user account administration.
  • Supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Monitoring and managing systems using enterprise management and security tools such as Tanium, CoreView, Cisco Umbrella, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Maintaining hardware and software asset inventories and related management systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving system, software, and device-related issues.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the required Experience AND Education to qualify.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional or technical experience within the last five (5) years supporting and maintaining enterprise information technology systems in a professionally administered network environment. 

Experience must include one or more of the following:
  • Endpoint management systems (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager/SCCM, Tanium) 
  • Microsoft 365 or Windows 365 administration
  • Active Directory administration
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Network access and security platforms
  • Hardware and software asset management systems
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited college, university or technical school in Information Technology or Business/Public Administration - OR - completion of a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, or Microsoft Certified Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Cisco Certified Network Administrator certificate or CompTIA certificate.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:  One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education/certification.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience supporting and administering enterprise systems
  • Strong knowledge of local and wide area network environments.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and coding languages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
