IT System Analyst, Full-Time, First Shift

UC Health is hiring a full-time IT System Analyst for the IS&T department for first shift at UC Health.

The Epic Population Health IT Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Population Health modules and related applications. This role collaborates with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to improve population health outcomes through data-driven solutions, workflow enhancements, and system integration.



Responsibilities

System Development and Support:

  • The Epic Population Health IT Systems Analyst is responsible for configuring, implementing, and maintaining Epic Population Health modules, including Healthy Planet, registries, and care management tools. This role analyzes clinical and operational workflows to identify opportunities for system optimization and improved patient outcomes, collaborating closely with clinicians, care managers, and leadership to translate business and clinical needs into technical solutions. The analyst develops and maintains reports, dashboards, registries, and ad hoc reporting to support population health initiatives and operational decision-making.
  • In addition, the analyst designs, documents, and maintains system configurations, parameters, workflows, and operational procedures in accordance with departmental standards. They execute application design changes and updates following established procedures and best practices, develop comprehensive test plans, and perform end-to-end testing—including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing—to ensure application requirements are met. The analyst ensures data integrity, quality, and consistency across applications and reporting tools, provides end-user support, troubleshooting, and training, and maintains application tables, reports, and other system components.
  • The role adheres to production support standards, documenting application requests, incidents, and resolutions using established tools and checklists, while participating in system upgrades, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The analyst supports population health metrics, risk stratification, and value-based care reporting, serves as a subject matter expert for Epic Population Health applications, and assists in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software solutions. They stay current with Epic updates, industry best practices, and healthcare IT trends to maintain system efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.

System Definition:

  • Designs system tables, parameters, and configurations to optimize functionality. Collaborate with vendors and users to evaluate and implement solutions. Develops testing and contingency plans, establishes timelines for enhancements, and produces functional and technical specifications.

Customer Relationship:

  • Facilitates end user meetings Develops consensus within user groups Encourages and displays actions that result in high client satisfaction or process improvements Provides effective written and verbal communication to end users Provides consults to end users 

Coordination:

  • Assesses and escalates user requests and issues. Supports vendor and consultant activities and facilitates application patch installations. Coordinates with IS&T teams on equipment requests and efficient use of data center resources. Collaborates with programming teams on development and provides consultation to IT staff

Other duties as assigned:

  • Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures.


Qualifications
  • Minimum Required: 
    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in IS&T or related field
    • Two or more years experience with computer applications (programming or analysis) in a PC or mainframe environment required. 
    • 4 years equivalent experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • License and Certification
    • EpicCare Value Base Care/or Healthy Planet Certification required. 
    • Person accepting this position, if not already certified in EpicCare Value Base Care and/or Healthy Planet will be required to obtain and maintain one or more Epic module certification(s) as required by the position.
