Bank of the James is looking for an IT Support Specialist II to join our close-knit IT team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, troubleshooting technology issues, and taking ownership of processes that keep our systems running smoothly. You’ll handle a mix of Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, manage computer and mobile device lifecycles, assist with patching, and contribute to audits and IT projects. While our IT team is small, we value developing our staff and are open to evolving responsibilities, roles, and scope as the organization grows. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support (using remote tools and travel onsite) for hardware, software, and account issues.
Manage the lifecycle of company laptops, desktops, and cell phones (procurement, imaging, deployment, retirement).
Own endpoint patching and compliance, ensuring systems remain secure and up to date.
Maintain and track IT inventory, asset records, and documentation.
Support internal and external IT audits.
Contribute to IT projects such as system upgrades, technology rollouts, and process improvements.
Assist with occasional after-hours support for critical issues.
Educate and train employees on IT procedures and security best practices.

Requirements
1–3 years of IT support or related experience (helpdesk, desktop support, or technical customer service).
Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows, Office 365, and mobile devices.
Basic knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
