About the role
As the Human Resources Generalist at Savory, you will oversee and execute all HR functions within our organization, working closely with management, senior leadership, and employees to create a positive and inclusive work environment. Your main areas of responsibility include compliance with employment laws, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and payroll. This position has the opportunity to interact with all departments and roles within the company, contributing directly to the overall success of our team. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, with an entrepreneurial spirit. A love of food, beverages, and excellent hospitality is a must!
 
 
Here are some examples of the primary responsibilities of our HR Generalist: 
·        Execute all aspects of the recruitment and selection process, including sourcing candidates, conducting and coordinating interviews, facilitating hiring decisions alongside management 
·        Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding and orientation sessions 
·        Participate in internal and external job fairs 
·        Provide training for employees and managers 
·        Prepare the new hires with a proper cultural assimilation through onboarding and new hire orientation 
·        Assist in benefits administration, including company communications, liaising with benefits carriers, and managing projects related to benefits compliance 
·        Address employee relations issues and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner, escalating as necessary 
·        Assist the Human Resources Director with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations 
·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases 
·        Stay current on HR trends and best practices 
·        Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment 
·        Process payroll for employees on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with applicable laws. 
·        Perform payroll verification for approved timesheets 
·        Follow up with any errors and omissions on timesheets in order to correct and process in the current week. 
·        Other duties as assigned to support our growing team and business 
 
Your experience should show us the following: 
·        Bachelor's degree required 
·        3-5 years of progressive HR experience 
·        Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is a must.
·        Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with a particular focus on NY Wage and Hour laws 
·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
·        Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion 
·        Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving skills 
·        Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite 
·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
·        Conversational proficiency in Spanish is a plus 
 
Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000

·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
·        Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
