DescriptionPossesses and maintains a working knowledge of Epic's suite of outpatient clinical documentation applications, primarily EpicCare Ambulatory. Demonstrates ability to analyze operational workflows, challenges and requests and devise appropriate solutions. Ability to translate end user requirements into specific application configuration changes with a solid understanding of change management. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, applications and interfaces. Proficient in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, project plans, and recommendations for system enhancements and replacements. Communicates effectively with clients, colleagues, developers, and organizational administration.
Responsibilities
- Employs proficient analytical skills to define business objectives and build requirements for system application maintenance and enhancement requests
- Prepares written documentation of the need for build changes and the proposed solutions, detailing the benefits and limitations of the proposal.
- Employs comprehensive analytical skills to define system information requirements and objectives for system, application, and interface maintenance or enhancement requests and communicate to clients and programmer/ build staff.
- Develops, implements, documents and validates comprehensive test plans of relevant application components and related interfaces.
- Devises and conducts pre- and post-project benchmarking metrics for moderate to complex projects.
- Maintains vendor relationships
- May be required to represent IT and/or present to various Hospital Clinical and/or Operations Committees. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
- Supports various workgroups and business units that require updates to patient facing applications.
- Ensuring that all corporate policies are followed and that decisions support a well-designed end-user experience.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to translate end user requests into patient and provider facing workflows.
- Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic modules and third party integrations that support outpatient workflows. Serves as a liaison between multiple business units and Information Solutions.
QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Required
- Education Required: High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is required.
- Education Preferred: BA/BS Degree
- Experience Required: Relevant experience within a healthcare environment highly desired or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and capability. IT Analyst experience highly desired.
- Experience Preferred: Demonstrated experience in a customer-focused role, such as marketing or patient access. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
License and/or Certification:

Preferred: Epic Certification, Accreditation or Proficiency in at least one of the following modules: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Kaleidoscope, EpicCare Compass Rose, MyChart, EpicCare Link, Care Everywhere

- Knowledge of project development life cycle methodologies such as Agile/Scrum a plus. A demonstrated knowledge of cross application/system workflow and data relationships is required. Web-based technologies, processes, and analytics. Employing software quality assurance and testing concepts, techniques, industry best practices, tools and standards.
