JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Computer Systems Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Computer Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Computer Services
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Perform systems management and integration functions across campus for all offices and departments. Work to improve the existing computer systems and programs. Analyze data processing and application problems and implement solutions to complex applications, network concerns or system administration issues. Facilitate and support software applications outside our Colleague/Microsoft/Canvas stack, providing analysis and recommendations to improve existing processes and workflow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain a support framework for various applications utilized on campus (i.e. Agilsys, Campus Store system, access control, and others).
Analyze data processing and application problems. Research, recommend, and apply solutions to difficult network concerns.
Audit existing systems on campus to identify areas for improvement. Identify bugs and inefficiencies within exiting systems and develop patches and fixes.
Work with team members across campus to design, modify, and/or implement appropriate IT systems that will help support organizational goals.
Ensure all systems and programs are carefully documented.
Lead the integration of various applications into the university information system.
Create and maintain a support framework for all applications on campus.
Manage all software versions.
Understand the functionality of all applications and train end-users as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
Experience with Drupal content management system, HTML, SQL and scripting languages.
Operating system experience, preferably Windows or UNIX.
Ability to apply critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of various solutions.
Experience and ability to conduct systems analysis to determine how various systems function and interact – providing guidance to offices regarding how changes in system operations will impact outcomes.
Leadership experience and the ability to work with and train student assistants
Ability to work with wide range of customer expectations and skills

Demonstration of ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
