THE POSITION:

Seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical skillset supporting a hybrid infrastructure including both Azure and On-premises technologies along with the vision to chart to support microservices software solutions. As a key member of the Infrastructure and Security team, you will maintain system uptime, stability, performance, and security to ensure the highest customer service levels. You will leverage your people skills as you develop and implement agile solutions that scale with the business and involve close collaboration across IT, application development and business stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support an application architecture that includes a Azure cloud and an on-premise VMware virtual Windows server environment for a software-driven financial service business.
  • Implement capabilities to automate the creation and maintenance of environments on-premises and in Azure, utilizing 'Infrastructure as Code' technology.
  • Ensure High Availability leveraging capabilities of Microsoft Azure Cloud and Windows Clustering technology for a Hybrid environment.
  • Highly resilient backup and recovery system, including regular testing of the disaster recovery procedure
  • Understand Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper installations
  • Ability to configure and administer Cisco, Palo Alto, and Junipers
  • Ability to support and architect switching, routing, and firewalls
  • Maintain a subset of physical business-critical Windows servers (Dell)
  • Administer Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Manage HP Nimble storage arrays to ensure optimal storage solutions across the business
  • Oversee server/storage technology in two Data Centers and a third office location
  • Enhance enterprise monitoring across on-prem and Azure to facilitate a cohesive, proactive posture
  • Define, document, and implement policies and procedures for monitoring, backups, security, DR, and capacity planning
  • Adept at solving complex problems; troubleshooting
  • Maintain non-prod environments to support efficient application development lifecycles (i.e.. SDLC)
  • Bring a passion to stay current on industry trends, architect future infrastructure solutions, and make forward-looking software/hardware purchase recommendations
  • Adhere closely to change control and related ITIL practices
  • Collaborate closely with the Security and Network teams to safeguard infrastructure systems
  • Adept at communicating technical information to stakeholders across the organization
  • Work in a highly collaborative software development environment that is primarily onsite
  • Applicant MUST have in-depth knowledge of Azure and Terraform

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in public cloud design guidance/implementation to support growing business demands
  • Manage Exchange and Office365 messaging systems
  • Develop scripts (ie, PowerShell) to automate manual functions

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years' experience in Azure.
  • 4+ years' experience administering Windows Server and AD environments
  • 3+ years' experience supporting enterprise storage arrays
  • 3+ years' experience supporting VMware
  • 2+ years' experience developing and integrating hybrid cloud IT systems



DESIRED SKILLS:

  • VMware VCP-DCV Certification (6.7 or above)
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud
  • Linux support experience
  • Microsoft 365 Certified
  • HPE Master ASE (storage)
  • Familiarity with automating processes using PowerShell or a similar scripting language
  • Experience with Telephony
  • F5 is very desirable.
