We are seeking an Accountant, Mid-Level with experience in government contract accounting to manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and compliance activities. This role is responsible for preparing accurate billing for CPFF, T&M, and FFP contracts, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with DCAA, FAR, and DFARS regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with Deltek Costpoint, and a solid understanding of federal billing systems like WAWF.


Responsibilities

Prepare and submit accurate and timely invoices in compliance with government contracts (e.g., CPFF, T&M, FFP)


Review funding, deliverables, and contract ceilings to ensure proper billing.


Work closely with project managers and contract administrators to ensure accurate financial reporting.


Review and process employee travel reimbursements and expense reports in accordance with internal policies.


Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable; monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments. Elevate payment issues to appropriate stakeholders; ensure proper resolution.


Interface with internal/external customers, government pay office, and company management.


Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.


Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.


Support DCAA compliance efforts, indirect rate calculations, and incurred cost submissions.


Other Duties as Assigned.


Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution required.


4+ years of demonstrated experience in government contract accounting.


Experience with billing for federal contracts.


Familiarity with travel policy compliance and GSA per diem rates.


Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.


Must be a self-starter, team player willing to work with others in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.


Experience with invoicing via Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) or other federal payment systems.


Advanced MS Excel.


Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance requirements.


Demonstrated knowledge of government contracting accounting practices required.


Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a standard office setting using standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers and video equipment; utilize computer software. Will interact in a general office setting with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; may travel occasionally for assigned work.
