SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The position of Staff Accountant focuses on a variety of areas in the accounting and finance department. This position includes core accounting responsibilities, as well as analysis and decision support responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(1) Prepare financial reports and bank reconciliations each month.
(2) Prepare general ledger journal entries under the direction of the controller.
(3) Assist with managing accounts payable and receivables as needed.
(4) Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, including trends and healthcare performance metrics.
(5) Actively participate in departmental initiatives to enhance overall efficiency.
(6) Assist with developing ad hoc reports and review of processes to adhere to internal controls within the accounting department.
(7) Assist with developing Provider metrics and reporting as directed.
(8) In collaboration with the Controller and CFO, prepare and develop financial reports to demonstrate financial health, provider performance, and cost savings attained.
(9) Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 2-5 years of experience in a mid-size to large accounting department (or public accounting), and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with QuickBooks and Tableau is a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are expected to include 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. (Monday – Thursday) and 8:00am- 12:00pm (Friday). Occasional overtime may be required. The position operates in a professional office environment. Incumbent will spend time writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, and reaching. The incumbent may operate the following standard office equipment including but not limited to multi-line telephone system, postage meter, facsimile machines, calculator, photocopy machine, computer/printer, and coffee maker. The incumbent may operate medical equipment.
