This position may be located three days a week in our San Mateo, CA office, or remote in Dallas, TX.

SUMMARY:

The Senior IT Audit will report to the Rakuten USA Internal Audit, Senior Manager and will be a critical part of the Rakuten Americas Internal Audit Team.  IT Senior Auditor will assist the IT Audit Manager in establishing an effective IT internal audit program including identifying, planning, organizing and executing audits that work towards Rakuten’s goals and objectives. The position will have a key role in assessing the company's compliance with the requirements of the Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) act as well as EU General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumers Protection Act. The position will be further called on to identify and implement Information Technology department process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing IT audit engagements of IT internal controls, application controls, technology infrastructure, the Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX)  controls and IT processes
• Work collaboratively with Information Security team, and external auditors to evaluate IT general control design, implementation, and operating effectiveness in support of Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) act as well as EU General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumers Protection Act
• Ability to understand, evaluate and document design and operating effectiveness of IT internal controls through detailed testing
• Assist in the development of the annual risk assessment and IT internal audit plan
• Assist in the development of audit strategies, best practices and utilization of technology
• Support operational, financial and compliance audits, as needed
• Assist IT management in the development of remediation activities and ensure that management action plans are implemented
• Perform follow-up review of prior audit issues, determining if appropriate corrective actions have been taken to address previously issued recommendations
• Perform data analytics with a dedicated software program
• Ensure audit work papers and reports are completed timely, logical, and organized to support conclusions
• Perform other projects and activities, as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Accounting or related business field
• 3-5 years’ experience in Internal Audit or IT audit environment
• A professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPA, or CCIM is preferred
• Experience with data analytics tools such as tableau and SQL is preferred
• Experience with large scale ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft) around system implementations and general computing controls
• Knowledge of SDLC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO, IT General Controls preferred
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms; previous experience in writing internal audit reports, preferred
• Travel up to approximately 30%

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
