The Human Resource Coordinator facilitates the human resource processes at the district by ensuring that business processes and plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS (UKG) system updates, assisting HR team with recruitment, onboarding, maintaining employee records, and providing administrative support to employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist department in carrying out a variety of human resources programs and procedures for district employees.
  • Help with new hire procedures, including organizing employee onboarding and new hire orientation, administering employee documents, and ensuring all pre-employment processes and necessary paperwork is properly completed.
  • Perform routine filing, scanning, and archiving of records to ensure record retention compliance.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) records, ensuring data accuracy through self-audits and reports.
  • Coordinates meetings, events, and activities for local team.
  • Assist with employee termination procedures including communicating any details to appropriate personnel.
  • Uphold confidentiality of all employee records or information related to employees.
  • Abide by company enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations as directed by the HR management.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 2-4 years of prior HR administrative experience with general knowledge of principles and practices in human resources is required.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including experience with HRIS, and ATS database systems; UKG software preferred/plus.
  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Wage and Hour, EEOC, FMLA, DOL, and other compliance areas.
  • Proven work experience in HR administrative responsibilities and communicating with employees.
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, data collection, analysis, and ability to evaluate.
