BACKGROUND CHECK

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed. 

PROBATION

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 1-year probation.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

50% 1. Direct activities and provide oversight on new capital projects, facility renovations/retrofits, process improvements, equipment installations and utility installations and modifications within the BPD facilities.

10% 2. Responsible for project execution following applicable design specification and standards.

10% 3. Prepare and maintain an internal project schedule for all assigned projects. Provide management with weekly status reports on all open projects. Inform management of any issues that would hinder the progress of the project.

10% 4. Serves as the primary point of contact for BPD Capital Projects. Serves as liaison between BPD and DGS on capital projects.

10% 5. Conducts on-site visits of BPD facilities and prepare a capital project plan for each facility. Coordinate with Director to establish priority of each facility.

5% 6. Assists Facilities Coordinator with implementation and project management of capital improvement projects.

5% 7. Function as the Department’s COOP Plan Coordinator

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Project Management Certification

Equivalent combination of education and experience. Education may not be substituted for the required specialized experience.

A valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management is required.
